Word on the Street
Bespoke, contemporary, the now of Savannah... Our Flagship shows are one-off, special nights.
Everyone is a character. Everyone has secrets. Everyone has a part to play in the drama!
Savannah is the perfect setting for collaborations. Historic, beautiful, and full of interesting people.
We work with local small businesses to showcase the best of what they offer.
Let Two Penny Tales craft the perfect story for your birthday, anniversary, or special occasion. We take into account your guest list, venue, and themes to create something unique and unforgettable.
Drop us a line!
Or at least it was dark and stormy inside Greg Austin's head. From it sprung dinners with a theatrical bent. Dinners begat cocktails, which begat parties...
And the nights spun out into a fantastic array of unique shows! The theme and location change each time, depending on the script and writing teams. The writers rotate, so the stories are always fresh. What remains constant is an emphasis on intimate, story driven community theater, open to people of all skill levels.

We have two types of shows: Flagship shows and Public Shows.
Our Flagships are smaller, bespoke shows where participants are cast via a casting form. Public shows are open to last minute entries and do not require prior registration.
In both cases, everyone is encouraged to embrace their character or alias and play along as the events unfold.
Our key difference is that everyone in our Flagship shows have a custom character to play. Everyone receives a bio in advance of the night... everyone is an actor!
We also pride ourselves on "playing fair," as in all the clues and actions during the night have to happen in real time and be available to everyone.
You'll arrive at the door and get checked in. Depending on the show, at this point you may receive extra notes or instructions. Once inside, you are in character for the duration of the show.
The action is scripted by cleverly arranged turns of events provided by the writers. At some point a murder will happen and everyone will try to figure out what happened, all the while staying in character.
Eventually, everyone will be asked to guess who they think the murderer is. After that the show wraps up with an unveiling of the truth.
Each Flagship show is cast individually. After the show is announced, a casting call is made via our email list and website. To be considered for the show, you sign up in response to that casting call. Space is limited for each show, so unfortunately we cannot guarantee a spot for everyone who signs up. Casting decisions are made by the writers and producer of the show.
Not at all! None of us involved are professional actors, in fact the show is designed specifically for people who have no prior experience. All you need is a willingness to embrace the fun of the night, and play along.
There is not an audience. Everyone gets a character or alias to play during the night.
The information about your character comes in your Character Bio or Public Show show details. This means that what you choose to wear for the evening is your choice.
Yes, there are Flagship shows monthly, with the writing rotating between many different writers. If you are interested in contributing to the creation of a future show, please let Greg know so he can start weaving you in!
